I think I mentioned earlier Banchte Shekha is a self sustaining organisation. They grow their own vegetables and fruits, farm their own animals and fishes. So few weeks ago, when Angela mentioned she’s taking the whole crew to their Hoibotpur branch to plant onions I could not resist the offer. I jumped in the van with eleven other staff members and left for Hoibotpur. On our way there I started singing and asked everyone else to join in and before we knew it we reached our destination.
At that point I wasn’t really sure what was about to take place, as I have never been exposed to such thing. We all got off the van and started walking towards an empty piece of land. I watched everyone else and started copying their activities.
We started weeding the vegetable field, while Angela started chopping the ends off onions seedlings. We then made rows of garden beds and laid the seedlings along the beds, while two other people straightened the plants. All of the seedlings were planted in no time.
The end result was rewarding and we managed to finish plating before sunset. We jumped back into the van and sang all the way back 🙂
